It may seem strange to be thinking about entertainment when prepping for disasters but if you really think about it, you will probably begin to see the sense in having some distractions for you and your family during a stressful time. Sitting in darkness and dwelling on your problems or worrying about what tomorrow may bring will spawn depression and make everything worse. You might think that you will be too busy surviving to think about playing games or watching movies but one of the biggest challenges to extended survival scenarios is boredom and depression. Having a sense of normalcy for even a brief time is a real morale booster and can make the difference between just surviving and thriving. Children, especially need to be occupied in order to maintain some type of happiness so make sure that you have plenty to occupy them and if you are forced to evacuate, be sure to take some games and toys for them.
